Jewellery Care
How do I wear my jewellery?
The more intentional you are about caring for your jewellery, the longer it will last. We recommend that you remove your jewellery before doing any activity that risks physical damage such as swimming, bathing or showering. We also advise that all jewellery pieces avoid direct contact with perfumes, hair spray and other chemicals. Any damage to the pieces incurred as a result of not following our recommendations voids any warranty on the item and cannot be replaced or refunded. For more information on warranty please refer to our Warranty Policy.
What is tarnishing?
Tarnishing is when shiny metal surfaces become dull and change colour. This is due to metals being exposed to environmental factors like oxygen, air pollution, moisture, and items that contain sulphur. Tarnishing is common in metals such as silver, copper and brass and naturally occurs over time. To keep your items looking their best please see the following questions (how to store and how to clean).
How do I store my jewellery?
Certain metals, like Gold Vermeil and Sterling Silver, can be prone to tarnishing if not stored correctly. We recommend the following to ensure your jewellery stays looking its best:
- When not being worn, store in a safe, dry place to protect against the elements.
- Store pieces separately to avoid damage.
- Ensure pieces are completely dry before storing.
- Store them in our pouches and boxes provided or an air-tight anti tarnish microsuede jewellery box.
How do I keep my jewellery clean?
Regularly cleaning your pieces helps to avoid the residue buildup that can dull the original shine. Proactive maintenance is the easiest way to care for your jewellery and keep that shine! We recommend using a polishing cloth to clean the items by gently buffing until any discolouration or marks are no longer visible.
Can I use steam cleaners or ultrasonic cleaners on my jewellery?
We do not recommend the use of steam cleaners or ultrasonic cleaners on our products. This is because these cleaners can damage or permanently discolour the items.
How do I use my polishing cloth?
To keep your piece looking its best, gently rub the surface with the cloth provided. It is normal to see dark residue on the cloth, it’s a sign that it is working correctly! Never wash the cloth as it will lose its effectiveness. Keep out of reach of children.
